Early Medieval/ Viking Bowl
A bowl made in dark chocolate brown earthenware clay handmade on my potter's wheel and made after the find of early medieval Thetford Ware pottery bowls in archaeological excavations with these finger impression decorations on the rim.
This bowl is a historical replica suitable for reenactment or modern use.
It has a speckled brown glaze applied to the inside of the bowl for ease of use and cleaning. The outside of the bowl is un-glazed.
Whist glazed bowls weren't particularly used in the early medieval time period it is a modern convenience whilst still giving the look of historical pottery. (Please get in touch if you require an un glazed version of anything).
This elegant little bowl is perfect for your soups, stews, cereals and for display too. Wether modern use or for historical recreation!
The bowl is approximately 7cm high, by 14cm diameter.
You will receive the exact bowl pictured.
Made in my cozy garden studio in Perthshire, Scotland with my trusty pottery dog at my side.
