Bringing the past to life, handling and using objects just as people thousands of years ago did and having a go at a craft or activity brings way more to life in the past than any textbook.
My passion as a long-time living historian and experimental archaeologist is to learn by trying to do things the way ancient peoples did. Having worked in open-air museums and spent years presenting ancient crafts like pottery, spinning and iron smelting, I've learnt that people come alive, relating to the past and the people who lived then, by having a go and seeing it for themselves!

Bringing life back to the past, I specialise in living history portraying life and crafts from British and northern European prehistory (Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age), to Early Medieval, Pictish and medieval periods.

Everything I bring to living history displays and workshops has been researched and is based in archaeological evidence.
Complete with the styles of the times! My displays include clothing based on finds from the time periods I portray, to give as best as possible an accurate portrayal of how people would look, live and move in the past. Shown here is my Bronze Age outfit with clothing based on northern European finds of clothing from bogs. And replica jewelry and pottery.
