Pictish Eagle/ Double Disk and ZRod: Cup/ Beaker

Pictish Eagle/ Double Disk and ZRod: Cup/ Beaker

A beaker/cup handmade on my potter's wheel and finished with a rusty red traditional Japanese glaze known as Tenmoku.

This archaeology inspired beaker features a design of a Pictish Eagle, and a double disk and z rod, both of which are symbols from carvings on Pictish stones from early medieval Scotland in.

The design was achieved through using wax resist on the clay when glazing the white stoneware clay cup.

The beaker is approximately 10cm high, by 9cm rim diameter.

You will receive the exact beaker pictured.

Made in my cozy garden studio in Perthshire, Scotland with my trusty pottery dog at my side.
