Westray Wifie figurine
  • Westray Wifie figurine

A ceramic replica of a Neolithic sandstone figurine found in Westray, Orkney, Scotland during an archaeological excavation. This 5,000 year old carving is among the earliest depictions of a person known from the British isles.

It may well be part of the 'venus' goddess tradition known from many early civilisations, hence her nickname as the 'venus of orkney' or the 'westray wifie'. But that's not known for certain.

Made to the approximate dimensions of the original: 4cm high, by 3cm wide by 1cm thick.

Made in un-glazed earthenware clay. Comes with an info card about the history of the figurine.

Please select the colour variant you prefer.

The listing is for one figurine, unless you select multiple.
